About Us
Mission Statement
| Our goal is
to create a unique, high quality swim club that offers all of its
members the opportunity to set goals and the means to achieve them. Our coaching philosophy is to recognize the potential while acknowledging the differences in all individuals. Through the use of expert instruction, proper repetition, and realistic goal-setting, each swimmer can achieve success. Motivation, using enthusiastic support and encouragement, will ensure the athlete's continued commitment. A strong team atmosphere will create a sense of belonging and a feeling of enjoyment. Positive experiences during competition will develop an individual's ability to adapt to life's circumstances while still reaching fulfillment. Our vision is to produce highly skilled, motivated, and dedicated athletes of all abilities who aspire to reach their most successful level in swimming. This program will provide every swimmer with the technical training, enthusiastic support, and continual encouragement consistent with the positive values of competition. Goal setting will be emphasized to ensure overall improvement and enjoyment. In addition, the elite swimmer will have limitless opportunities to achieve national to international prominence. |

History |
| Team Delaware is the longest existing USS program in the state. We are non-profit. TD has trained multiple Olympic Trial and National level athletes. We currently have 150 swimmers in our programs. Our parent-run organization provides a full aquatics program that includes lessons to world ranked athletes. |

Outreach Program |
| Over the past several years Team Delaware has reached out to hundreds of underprivileged children providing them with the opportunities to “Learn to Swim” in a safe environment. Ultimately, we hope that some of these young swimmers will choose to participate in Team Delaware’s competitive swimming program, thus realizing the life-long benefits of the sport. Our Outreach program is offered thanks to the generous support of the Chichester DuPont Foundation, MBNA, the DuPont Company, and the hard work of our volunteers and coaches. The Program Director is Nancy Haubein Mattson, one of Team Delaware’s Developmental Instructors. No competitive swimming fees are utilized. |
